Meet the Teacher

Hey, I’m Chris. I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, and I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years. Music has always been a huge part of my life—I’ve played in bands, recorded my own songs, and spent plenty of late nights just jamming and experimenting. Guitar is my main instrument, but I like to mess around with others too. Most of the time you’ll catch me playing rock, funk, jazz, or blues, and I love improvising, especially on electric guitar.

Outside of music, I studied Forestry at UW–Stevens Point, and I love being outdoors. Hiking, biking, swimming, gardening—anything that gets me out in the sun is where I feel at home. I’m also into cooking, and like a lot of people, I really appreciate a good cup of coffee.

Teaching guitar just came naturally for me. It’s a way to share what I love and help other people discover how much fun playing can be.

"I spent years playing at a low level, never really understanding the instrument. Chris Showed me how to use the whole fretboard, play more interesting music, and improvise. Old dogs can learn new tricks!"
